One of Lawrence’s oldest residential structures, coupled to an addition by Rockhill and Associates comprises the Krause Fine Dining property. A large scale rehabilitation of the existing buildings and another addition were needed to update the property for its legal commercial use as an award wining exclusive restaurant. We managed the complete remodel of the public spaces, kitchen, and portions of the living quarters in 10 cold winter weeks, while the clients took and extended “work-cation” from the Kansas weather. Even with relentless snow and ice storms the whole crew had a grand time during this job. Despite never getting even a single bologna sandwich made by the renowned chefs and clients, we still managed to keep working and meet the deadline for opening day. Three new bathrooms, completely updated mechanical systems, ADA accessibility, and a greatly improved commercial kitchen were just some of the features we packed into our fast paced update to this unique property.
